Ugly Fabric Swap - September 3, 2009 Meeting

Ugly Fabric Swap

1) Bring a half yard (or more) of an ugly* fabric to the OCQG meeting on September 3, 2009. Keep it hidden in a bag until the swap takes place.
2) Write your name on a piece of paper and place in the Swap basket – on the fireplace mantel.
3) Keep your piece of fabric with you until the swap.
4) Names will be drawn at random and the swapping will begin. Note: The method of swapping will be explained during the activity.

*Definition of Ugly Fabric: Quilt shop quality fabric that you no longer want to use, has a wacky design, strange color, best described as “What was I thinking?”

Optional:
5) From your swapped ugly fabric, make one block with a recognizable amount of the ugly fabric (or an entire quilt top).
6) Bring to December meeting for a Viewer’s Choice activity.
7) Block with the most votes will win a bundle of Fat Quarters.
